finally...

I think it is spring, just in time for summer! When we lived in California, June was known as June gloom, because it was always kind of crappy weather, but at least it was warm and dry. There are climatic reasons for this, which in the very back of my brain I do know, but it is much too boring to try and dredge out, suffice it to say, the land temp. is warming faster than the ocean...that's the crux of it.We embarked on a wonderous adventure( for my husband) of packing up and moving north from Huntington Beach, aka Surf City to the middle of nowhere, Oregon coast. My poor sweetie, can not adapt to the major climate change, you know, rain. What most people don't know , is that southren California is mostly desert. It is hard to tell since it is mostly concrete and golf courses.Anyway we made this trek north and it is far too rainy for him, so we have put our house on the market and since there is a crappy market, it may take at least a year to sell. Since we don't have to sell we can sit on our price as long as we want, but we know what our bottom line is. Poor mister Jim, he was a surfer/golfer/barbeque-er now he is not going in the ocean 'cos it's much too cold and has great whites in it, he doesn't get to barbeque too much because it is hard to do on the uncovered deck in the rain.He is also pretty much a fair weather golfer, but he has adapted to rainy and cold or he would never get out. It is so wet here that they make golf rain boots, pictures Wellies with spikes. Our next move will be out last ( I hope) we have decided to try the desert that is still desert in Ca. i.e. the Palm Springs area. I don't care where we go, I will adapt to it, because it
will make him happy and I like that idea,I told him fine we can move anywhere, we are not tied down to one place..he is sorry that he had set such strick criteria when we moved here, had to be on the coast and in the "banana belt" ( the warmer end of the state). All I ask for there is air conditioning and a pool. And a car that gets more than 12 mpg in town.I am looking at hybrids and smart cars...I don't care how small it is, because in Ca. I had sports cars, but I will be economical next time.(Maybe)

Ok, I've whined enough...

... I wish it were Friday, our friend Andy, a Coast Guard Reservist, will be back from 8 months of tdy in Cuba. I feel so sorry for him, he had to lift weights, scuba dive, hang out with Victoria's Secret models that were there for a photo shoot. Oh yeah, and guard Gitmo, it seems rather like an after thought.Anyway his family is so thrilled that he will be home.Friday is a surprise for him held at a lodge/resturant /bar kinda place...we have booked a room so that we don't have to drive home after partying( I don't usually drink, so I have been the ddriver for years) I may or may not have a drink , probably not though. Before he left we were all going to go get tattoos, but time snuck up on us and we never made it. I did after the fact, love the tat but wish i had had the inker write "reach for the stars" above it, I may have that put on there yet. My husband swears that he is going to get Taz on his calf...that I will belive when I see it. He was the only one in the family that didn't have a tattoo. When he was going for radiation for his cancer I told him that they would tattoo land marks on him, he thought that as usual, I was feeding him a line, so he really freaked out when the nurse came in and tattooed 3 tiny spots across his lower abdomen...I don't seriously think he will ever get a tattoo, but who knows. For years he has acted like he was scrubbing my old one on my shoulder off. Before I got the last one, I told him that I was going to have something put over it as a cover up,and that was the last I was going to do, but somehow I managed to come home with a whole new tat. Now I am thinking of where I want the next one, which is my little killer bunny, if I can remember my photobucket pw I will insert him in here, oh I found him, he's on top of things!

Where is my spring? Will there even be a summer??

It has been raining all week, making us whine and whine and whine some more! It is not supposed to rain tomorrow so we can get outside and ( if it really doesn't rain, that is) hike by the beach. I could just do 4 or 5 miles on my treadmill, but unless I put a movie in my spare laptop, it gets boring FAST. But going out and hiking in nature has recently been proven to actually burn more calories. Dunno why but it does. I used to do at least 10 k a day, but since it has been raining forever I have been sluffing off. I am tired of my whiney self so I will try not to be whiney anymore
