Say bye bye to the old year...

It's the end of the trail, and the year, too. This is me in my usual pose to the rest of the world, standing at the end of the Lewis and Clark trail, in Astoria , Oregon. I think that was in Feburary or maybe August...being brain dead, I never know when it is. Since we have had winter all year, it very well could be August. It matters not, all days run together anyway, it's not like I have anything to do(lucky me)except play on the computer and read( and take boy #2 to his psych every other week). My life is very good, except for various age related things...how can I be so old when I still feel so young? I seriously don't feel any different than I did when I was about 15, and yeah, I'm still that goofy, too.Even mr punxxi has given in, he bought me some really cute slipper boots with black and white stripes and pink skulls on the for Christmas...too bad they were too small, they were seriously cute ! I am rambling...I feel somewhat hyper right now which is not the norm but once in a while it happens. I am somewhat backwards in that I can drink coffee and go to sleep, maybe I haven't had enough caffeine yet? Oh well have a great New Year everyone....I love all you bloggggieeessss!!You are my best friends, belive it or not!

Just saying the name is fattening..

Today I am making dessert for Christmas dinner, it is a combination of 2 recipes, so I hope it turns out tasty. It is a caramelized bread pudding pumpkin cheesecake. I have made it before but with a regular cheesecake on top. I got this receipe from a friend of ours that is a chef. I will have to let him know how it comes out with the pumpkin cheesecake on top. It wazs really good with the regular cheese cake. I really love to bake and have been baking since a couple of days befor Thanksgiving. Not like steady, everyday, but more than I do all year since we live on diets 345 days a year. So far I made a gingerbread house with my son David, the birds loved it after we picked all the candies off. Gingerbread and Snickerdoodle cookies were next, those are for my husband he loves them (the Snickerdoodles, they are kinda dull if you ask me) . He says he isn't a big sugar eater, which is true the rest of the year. Then we made the killer cookies to put in a couple of baskets we made for friends, they are basically the recipe for Quaker Oatmeal cookies, but then you add pecans, butterscotch chips, mini Reeses's Pieces, and the secret ingredient is ********... ha you didn't think I was gonna tell you the secret ingridient did ya?
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
XOXO

FAAAAARK! It's a wee tad nippy out...

Brrrrr, it's cold! Well, not as cold as say, Minnesota or Alaska, but it was 27 f , (that is in the -2 -3 range, celcius)when i went to bed and 25f when i got up, icy roads and all that stuff. It is supposed to rain/snow for the next couple of days. Maybe we will have a nice white Christmas? More likely we will have a white Christmas caused by fog.Even the cats want to stay in the house all night, which most of them won't do in the summer.I am eternally thankful for electric blankets, all I need to do now is to remember to put my pillow under the covers before I go to bed...nothing like crawling into a nice cozy warm bed and having your head hit an ice cold pillow. It is so cold in this house that I had to buy terrycloth toilet seat covers...I mean I do not want to wake up in the middle of the night frozen solid to the toilet seat, ya know what I mean?
I was trying to make some Christmas mini tarts, boy did I make a mess, glad I keep that silicone oven protector in there...melted sugar all over it ...what a mess that would have made baked onto the oven...so that recipe is going in the trash ... I have a ton more to try out ...a ton, that 's what I am gonna weigh after all of my sweet experiments the last 3 weeks.
